June 30, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - As we reported last October [see, http://www.pipelinenews.org/2009/UK-Defeated.html, UK Defeated By Muslim Stealth Jihad, Capitulates To Shari'a] Britain's embrace of the predatory doctrine of multiculturalism, has led to the establishment of a dual tiered system of jurisprudence comprised of traditional secular civil courts which coexist with a rapidly emerging system of Shari'a tribunals, whose decisions in most cases carry the full weight of the law.
Whereas it was believed by some that this alternative legal system of Islamic religious courts would grow slowly, the green flag provided by, among others, the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams, the head of the Anglican Church, seems to have caused the movement to explode in a very short time, with at least 85 Shari'a courts now operating within the British Isles.
Calling attention to this phenomenon is the Institute for the Study of Civil Society [CIVITAS] a UK based think tank which yesterday issued a blistering attack on the Shari'a court system.
"The underlying problem is that sharia law reflects male-dominated Asian and Arabic cultures. It cannot therefore be accepted as a legally valid basis even for settling private disagreements in a country like ours, where our law embodies the equal legal status of everyone, regardless of race, gender or religion. Our system is based on moral and legal equality or it is nothing. Moreover, further encouragement of sharia law, far from helping integration, will undermine the efforts of British Muslims struggling to evolve a version of Islam consistent with a tolerant and pluralistic society." June 29, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLinenews.org - Delivering a resounding rebuke to Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, today the high court overturned what is considered by most to be her most far-reaching decision, Ricci v. DeStefano, in which a three judge panel, led by her ruled against a group of white firefighters who had been denied promotion in New Haven, Connecticut despite the fact that they scored significantly higher on qualifying tests than minority applicants.
The real story behind the story here was revealed in Justice Alito's concurring opinion which clearly demonstrated the anti-Caucasian racial bias that seems to permeate public employee politics in New Haven, represented below by an overtly threatening statement made [February 5, 2004] by a discredited though still powerful race-baiting "reverend," Boise Kimber, who spoke against the certification of the test results which are the kernel of controversy in the Ricci case. It is important to additionally note that Kimber is a long-time ally of 7 term New Haven Mayor John DeStefano.
"On February 5, 2004, the CSB convened its second public meeting. Reverend Kimber again testified and threatened the CSB with political recriminations if they voted to certify the test results:
"I look at this [Board] tonight. I look at three whites and one Hispanic and no blacks. . . . I would hope that you would not put yourself in this type of position, a political ramification that may come back upon you as you sit on this [Board] and decide the future of a department and the future of those who are being promoted." It was into this vile racial animus that judge Sotomayor injected herself by taking on this case in the first place.
Sotomayor's decision to casually uphold what is clearly on its face a case of racial bias, proves that she is incapable of seeing past skin color in matters concerning race.
If Ms. Sotomayor was at all sensitive to the momentous legal issues involved and had therefore given this case anywhere near the degree of due diligence it deserved, she should have been aware of the cesspool of what is colloquially referred to as reverse racism which has worked its way into New Haven's civil service politics, which led to this case in the first place. Regardless she forged ahead perceiving this matter in a thoroughly non-legalistic, indefensible framework, working to promote an agenda based entirely on skin color.
On that basis alone she deserves the moniker racist, making her singularly unqualified to serve on this country's highest court.
June 29, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Joe Kaufman, Chairman of Americans Against Hate is today free to carry on his battle against the domestic stealth jihad, content in the knowledge that an entirely frivolous lawsuit brought against him by the Islamist "B" team, has been dismissed by a Texas court.
The case came as the result of an October 12, 2007 protest organized by Mr. Kaufman against a "Muslim Family Day" sponsored by the Islamic Circle of North America [ICNA] and held at the Six Flags Over Texas amusement park.
The Muslim Family Day event drew 9,000 supporters.
According to Mr. Kaufman the lawsuit was initiated by a consortium of radical Muslim groups including the Muslim American Society [MAS], three local mosques owned by the North American Islamic Trust [NAIT] and others, who "filed a lawsuit against me for the simple reason that they wanted to punish me financially for writing about the terrorist ties of their friends. Despite the fact that none of these groups were even mentioned in Kaufman's "offensive" article, the lawsuit went forward, a sure sign that it was a SLAPP lawsuit [strategic litigation against public participation] undertaken with the dual intent of denying members of the public its First Amendment rights while attempting to bankrupt defendants via the cost of mounting a legal defense. Unfortunately, Texas has no anti-SLAPP legislation.

The nation's largest abortion chain wants D.C. viewers to believe that 90 percent of the services it provides consist of "preventive and primary care."
However, the reality, according to Planned Parenthood's own data, is that primary care accounts for 0.7 percent of its lucrative business.
June 23, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - The pastor of one of America's largest churches, [Saddleback Church, Rick Warren] is planning on attending a July 4th convention sponsored by the controversial Islamic Society of North America [ISNA].
Warren was apparently invited by Sayyid Syeed, past General Secretary of the group as well as past president of the Muslim Student Association [MSA], with the offer having been extended by him during the inauguration of president Obama [see Syeed's bio, http://data.rac.org/bt/?page_id=190].
ISNA has increasingly been under fire, largely from having been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the nation's largest successful prosecution of Hamas terror funding, U.S. vs Holy Land Foundation, et al, [see indictment here, http://www.investigativeproject.org/documents/case_docs/623.pdf] which did so on the basis that ISNA was closely associated with Egypt's terrorist Muslim Brotherhood, the organization which in addition to providing the intellectual/ideological basis for modern Islamic terrorism, founded Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist group.
One of the prosecution's exhibits presented at the Holy Land trial has a major bearing on the status of ISNA.

Dassin, the Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that Saleh Elahwal, 56, of Matawan, New Jersey, was sentenced today to 17 months in prison for providing material support to Hezbollah, a Foreign Terrorist Organization. The sentence was imposed in Manhattan federal court by United States District Judge Richard M. Berman, before whom Elahwal previously pleaded guilty. According to the criminal Complaint, Count Two of the Superseding Indictment, to which Elahwal pleaded guilty, and statements made during proceedings in Manhattan federal court:

June 23, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Four years ago, in June 2005, the Iranian presidential election was rigged, too, and the outcome was the same: Dr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the candidate most favored by conservative hard-liners, won unexpectedly. This "no-chance candidate" had come out of the blue and defeated the moderate and more experienced Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. But this had only been possible after direct intervention by hardline cleric and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the regime's notorious paramilitary "Basij militia."
Shortly before the June 2005 elections there was a high-level secret meeting at Khamenei's residence in Tehran. It was then and there that a decision was taken according to which Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, an obscure mayor of Tehran, was to be the most preferable presidential candidate. He should be supported at all cost. Subsequently, the powerful "Basij militia" was quickly mobilized on behalf of Ahmadinejad's election campaign. The Basij are extremely fanatic and well-trained young men and women willing to use violence to quell uprisings and intimidate or even kill so-called moderates. It is their duty to show "maximum presence" in elections and "promote political understanding so the best choices are made." In other words, put pressure on voters to vote for the right candidate, intimidate them and rig the election by any means possible if a moderate candidate has somehow won. (In attacks on demonstrators in Tehran members of the Basij stabbed arms of protesters with razors, one of their favorite weapons.)
The Basij Militia is part of the so-called Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, an equally fanatical paramilitary force which is totally dedicated to the regime's hard-liners and in charge of security and domestic repression. It is also their duty to fight alongside the army in case of war. The well-armed Revolutionary Guards are roughly comparable to the Nazi SS in Hitler's Third Reich.
In his biography of Ahmadinejad Iranian journalist Kasra Naji decribes the attempts to manipulate the election result. When these results were reported on state television on June 18, 2005, a report from inside the election headquarters stated that, according to the Guardian Council (a hardline supervising body), more than 21 million votes had been counted and that Rafsanjani was in the lead. Within minutes, however, another report was delivered repeating a statement from the Interior Ministry that 15 million votes had been counted and that Rafsanjani was leading, followed by Mehdi Karroubi (another candidate), says Kasra Naji. "This result seemed to chime more closely with the findings of pre-election polls and the media understanding of the presidential race."

However, both the First Lady's and the President's campaigns share the same problem: Both are based on politically-correct illusions.
Mrs. Obama's moment came earlier this month when she invited fifth-grade students to join her at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and share an early harvest from the White House Organic Garden. The menu: brown rice, baked chicken and fresh snapped peas. We're sure it was delicious.
Mrs. Obama understandably touted the freshness of the peas?and nothing's fresher or more local than vegetables picked from a backyard garden. Unfortunately, Mrs. Obama would have us believe that modern farming's food is less healthful and nutritious than food grown the old-fashioned, organic way. But, then, why do Africans today, eating all-organic diets, still expire 30 years younger than their Western counterparts? Why no age adjusted increase in cancer rates, except among smokers?

Note how the process is designed to have participants go beyond what they believe is wrong, and overcome personal conscience for the larger "good". How easy it is for those who don't understand the process to contribute to their own brainwashing in the hands of trained facilitators who lead groups through seemingly innocuous exercises to overcome aversion to what participants might find difficult to accept if presented
straightforwardly.
Also note the behavioral reinforcement of the transformation [moving from place to place, standing and sitting, etc, etc. representing your viewpoint at specific points in the exercise.] Active participation in altering your transformation which makes it "yours" with witnesses, and therefore more difficult to shed should you have doubts after the fact.
Al-Qaeda Third In Command - Abul-Yazeed - Says Terror Group Wants To Use Pakistan's Nukes Against U.S.
June 18, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Illinois' public schools are being targeted by a coalition of Chicago and out-of-state Islamists who have worked a back room deal to introduce Arabic language programs. [see Illinois Senate Resolution 0290] The stealth campaign whereby this initiative was launched was referred to in an April 2009 message on the website of one of the most radical and well attended mosques in the United States, the Bridgeview Mosque Foundation.
Addressing the issue its president, Dr. Zaher Sahloul writes:
"In the last local election on April 7th, 2009, three candidates running for the School Board of District 230, Laura Murphy, Carol Baker and Michael Hastings won their seats. In a recent Candidate Forum organized by the Mosque Foundation, these and other candidates in neighboring school districts pledged to support the introduction of Arabic language to the curriculum in their public schools. This is a landmark moment in the Mosque Foundation initiative to introduce Arabic Language to our Public Schools."
If this idea gains widespread support it would indeed be a "landmark," though not in any positive sense of the word. [Note: the program is already being offered on a limited basis, as SR Res 0290 states, "A few public schools in this State have already
begun to offer Arabic as a foreign language, such as Lindblom
Math & Science Academy, Lincoln Park High School, Roosevelt
High School, Volta Elementary School, Durkin Park Elementary
School, and Peck Elementary School."]
The teaching of the Arabic language comes complete with a far-reaching set of unique difficulties, as Middle East historian Dr. Daniel Pipes has observed.
"Evidence from Algeria also points to the impact of Arabic instruction, as documented in James Coffman's breakthrough 1995 article "Does the Arabic Language Encourage Radical Islam?" He compared Algerian students taught in French versus those taught in Arabic and found that
'Arabized students show decidedly greater support for the Islamist movement and greater mistrust of the West. Arabized students tend to repeat the same simplistic stories and rumors that abound in the Arabic-language press, particularly Al-Munqidh, the newspaper of the Islamic Salvation Front. They tell about sightings of the word "Allah" written in the afternoon sky, the infiltration into Algeria of Israeli women spies infected with AIDS, the "disproving" of Christianity on a local religious program, and the mass conversion to Islam by millions of Americans. I was not the only one to notice this distinction. When asked if the new, Arabized students differed from the other students, many students and faculty answered an emphatic yes.'
Coffman also find a similar trend in other Arabic-speaking countries:
'...because Arabs draw so close a connection between classical Arabic and the faith of Islam, Arabization invariably leads to an identification with the (supranational) Islamic religious tradition. Even the most secular Arab nationalists (such as the Ba'thist variants in Syria and Iraq) must appeal to Islamic symbolism to bolster sagging legitimacy and to mobilize the masses (as Saddam Husayn did in his wars against Iran and the U.S.-led coalition). Hence, Arab nationalism has, however inadvertently, contributed to the rise of Islamism. Indeed, today's Islamist surge is the natural, perhaps inevitable consequence of the Arab nationalist policies of thirty years ago.'"
Aside from the question as to the advisability of introducing Arabic language instruction, there is the issue of the nature of the mosque which is pushing this program.
June 17, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - As these writers have long maintained "the dangerous nature of the Muslim Brotherhood [Ikhwan in Arabic] and its centrality within Islamic terrorism," precludes it ever being amenable in any positive way, to "dialogue," with the West [for example see our 2007 piece http://www.pipelinenews.org/2007/Bush-Administration-Moves-To-Legitimize-The-Muslim-Brotherhood.html, Bush Administration Moves To Legitimize The Muslim Brotherhood?], so it is not surprising in the least that a week before Obama's June 4 dhimmi speech to the Muslim world, Egypt's only English daily newspaper carried a front-page article detailing not only the existence of an armed wing of the now avowedly "peaceful" Muslim Brotherhood [MB], but that the organization's leadership is ready to commit ten thousand "holy warriors" in the fight to destroy Israel.
"I am ready to send immediately 10,000 mujahadin to fight the Zionists alongside Hezbollah," Supreme Guide Mohammed Mehdi Akef told AFP." [source, http://www.thedailynewsegypt.com/article.aspx?ArticleID=2504]
Lest one think this might be idle boasting, that the MB does not have such a capacity, the group's "Supreme Guide" Akef states that though it would be difficult to field this number of jihadists, "There are enough people..." but stipulated that "Training ... is not as easy as it once was; there was a time when a week was all it took to train and arm fighters," so it is clear that the MB is not talking about a new capability, that it has maintained an armed wing for some time.
These authors also noted in a 2006 piece that the Egyptian government was aware of the armed wing of the MB and was taking what it deemed to be appropriate action.
"Egyptian officials are concerned that the Muslim Brotherhood is in the process of building on its political power and developing a military wing. Adding credence to that speculation many of the al-Azhar demonstrators were wearing military style garb.
The Middle East Newsline is reporting that the existence of the Muslim Brotherhood's military wing has been confirmed by unidentified government officials:
"'They don't walk around with firearms, at least not as far as we know,' an official said. 'But they are trained to attack.' Officials said Brotherhood militiamen have been trained in karate, Kung Fu and other martial arts. They said the force has been seen at Al Azhar University, regarded as the seat of Sunni Islam and a Brotherhood stronghold." That this information comes so highly sourced flies in the face of State Department types [whose sentiments now dominate the thinking regarding the group in the Obama administration] who actually hold the Muslim Brotherhood up as an example of exactly the type of "peaceful" Muslim group with which dialogue should be conducted.
June 16, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - With pressure mounting on the administration to at least verbally challenge the terrorist Iranian regime over last week's sham election, president Obama on Tuesday finally weighed into the fray, displaying once again his penchant for kid-glove treatment of America's enemies while dealing roughshod with former allies such as Israel [see for example, http://www.pipelinenews.org/index.cfm?page=katzid=5.7.09%2Ehtm Knesset Member Yaakov Katz Accuses Rahm Emanuel And Obama Of Forcing Israel's Suicide].
As in his Cairo speech where Obama was more than willing to rewrite history to keep it within a narrative advancing the fatuous claim that Islam is the religion of peace, today's brief statement contained no condemnation of the mounting violence in Iran or the nature of the regime itself.
Instead, the president seemed to be acting in the role of public relations agent for the Iranian theocracy, even offering absent fact or reason, a belief that the country's "supreme leader" is actually concerned over the post electoral bedlam as well as the results, while placing faith that the ayatollahs will "investigate," a process that was obviously wired directly by them from the get-go.
Not only did Obama refrain from the strong-arm tactics recently employed against the Israeli's, attempting to dictate the terms under which settlements in the West Bank must operate, but he completely abdicated his responsibility to show some sort of moral leadership by refusing to, in his words, "meddle" in Iran.
June 16, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Sub-Saharan African and Somali crime networks and youth gangs play a destructive role in a number of European countries, especially in Greece, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and Britain. Somali immigrants are supported by their clans. Somali crime networks are specialized in migrant trafficking, identity fraud, drugs, weapons smuggling, gun-running, car crime and "Hawala" money transfers to terrorists and criminals.
This money is being transferred to Somalia from the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Italy, Britain and the USA. In February 2008, six Somalis were arrested in Sweden and Norway on suspicion of funding terrorism with cash sent to Al-Qaeda terrorists in Somalia. 1For quite a number of years, the Hawala system and the Somali Al-Barakaat bank have been instrumental in operations run by Somali criminals or Al-Qaeda linked terrorists inside or outside Somalia. 2
Since the early 1990s Britain has seen a rapid influx of Somali immigrants. There are now about 250,000 Somalis in the United Kingdom. Most of them entered the country as asylum seekers. The so-called "gangsta-rap culture" is highly popular among Somali boys, often young macho criminals. Somali and other African crime gangs have terrified local communities. In Toxteth, Liverpool, for example, a hard core of about 30 Somali youths are active in car crime and drug dealing. 3 The situation is much worse in London with its large Somali immigrant community. A senior police officer told The Guardian, a British newspaper, "that more intervention was needed to stop large numbers of traumatized young men from civil wars in Africa forming street gangs." "He said the level of violence used by these groups was extreme, involving not only knives, but ceremonial swords, guns and hammers." 4 Faisal Wangita, son of former Ugandan dictator Idi Amin, joined a notorious London gang called the "Tottenham Somalis." In January 2006, Mr. Wangita and three Somali youth gang members, Ismael Mohamed, Liban Elmi and Hussain Ali Hussain were involved in murdering Mahir Osman, a Somali student. The killing was part of a typical African gang feud. Mr. Osman was stabbed more than 25 times and beaten with a hammer. The trial judge later condemned the murder as an example of the gang culture "all too prevalent" on the streets of Britain. 5 Somali youths have also been the victims of violent attacks by Asian (notably Pakistani) and Jamaican youths. It is a new form of racism that breaks down the traditional notion of white on black violence. 6
June 16, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - "As ranking member on the Commerce-Justice-Science Appropriations subcommittee, which last week considered the FY 2010 appropriations bill, I have a keen interest in and oversight responsibility for a host of counterterrorism-related initiatives. The bill, which is expected to come before the full House next week, includes $7.7 billion to support the work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), whose top priorities include protecting and defending the United States against terrorism and foreign intelligence threats.
The FBI was intimately involved in a 15-year investigation which culminated last fall in the Holy Land Foundation and five of its former organizers being found guilty of illegally funneling more than $12 million to the terrorist group Hamas.
A Department of Justice press release issued May 27, 2009, reported that "U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis sentenced the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) and five of its leaders following their convictions by a federal jury in November 2008 on charges of providing material support to Hamas, a designated foreign terrorist organization." The sentences ranged from 15 years to 65 years in prison.

What little we know about Mr. Obama's youth certainly suggests that he not only had a Kenyan father who was Muslim, but that he spent his early, formative years as one in Indonesia. As the President likes to say "much has been made" - in this case by him and his campaign handlers - of the fact that he became a Christian as an adult in Chicago, under the now-notorious Pastor Jeremiah Wright.
With Mr. Obama's unbelievably-ballyhooed address in Cairo last Thursday to what he calls "the Muslim world" (hereafter known as "The Speech"), there is mounting evidence that the President not only identifies with Muslims, but may actually still be one himself. Consider the following indicators:

According to the complaint, the Essex County Department of Corrections (DOC), first suspended Beshier and then terminated her on the ground that her wearing of a khimar (a head scarf) violated its uniform policy for corrections officers. The complaint alleges that Beshier had requested a religious accommodation that would permit her to wear her khimar, but the DOC denied her request.

The address itself [available here] provides the clearest insight yet into what changes the new administration is contemplating in dealing with what seems to be the two major points of contention between the Middle East and the West, the war on terror and continued U.S. support of Israel.
The speech took place against a backdrop in which team Obama has already taken numerous actions calculated to curry favor with the Islamists including closing GITMO, funding the corrupt Palestinian Authority to "reconstruct" Gaza to the tune of $900 million, pressuring Israel's new Netanyahu administration for additional concessions in the moribund "peace process" and through its Homeland Security chief Napolitano, banishing in governmental communications nearly every valid descriptor of terrorism fueled by fundamentalist Islamic beliefs.
Providing additional color, the event was "hosted" by both Cairo University and Al Azhar University, also in Cairo, acknowledged as the world's premiere Sunni religious training center which is widely believed to have spawned entire generations of Muslim radicals including Omar Abdel-Rahman, the "Blind Sheikh" who is now serving a life term in federal prison for his role as the spiritual leader for the 1993 World Trade Center bombers as well as directing a plot to blow up additional New York landmarks. Al Azhar is also well known as a stronghold for the Muslim Brotherhood.
Broadly defined, Obama's speech consisted almost entirely of pandering to the Middle East, presenting an inauthentic picture of the nature of the clash between the West and Islam.

Dutch Journalist, Raped By Taliban Defends Treatment

If, with all this, the student should fail he/she would be sent back to the community classroom to be "trained in handling community violence."
May 26, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Heinrich Himmler (1900-1945), Hitler's notorious "Reichsführer SS" (Federal leader of the SS) and chief of the German police, is one of the greatest mass murderers of the 20th century. Not only was he directly responsible for the death of at least six million Jews but also for the death of countless others most of whom belonged to so-called "inferior races" or simply despised Nazism. Moreover, a lot of German enemies and political opponents of the "Third Reich" also died in concentration camps and prisons ? as a result of the brutal practices of SS and State Security Police or "Gestapo." (Gestapo chief Heinrich Müller had once visited Russia where he had been impressed by the methods of Stalin's secret police.)
Less well known is the fact that the same Heinrich Himmler warmly embraced Islam or "Mohammedanism" as it was called then. He admired the religion of the Muslims because it promised that there will be "beautiful women in paradise for those who die in battle." (Many of today's suicide bombers ? often sexually frustrated young males ? have also deluded themselves into believing that 72 smiling "Huris" or virgin beauties are waiting for them in paradise.)
Felix Kersten (1898-1990) was Himmler's personal masseur and confidant. It was seven years after the war that Kersten published his sensational memoirs, "Totenkopf und Treue." The Kersten memoirs were also published in English but, unfortunately, the original chapter on Himmler's "Enthousiasm for Islam" ("Begeisterung für Islam") was conspicuously lacking in the English edition. Although some of Kersten's claims are exaggerated, other parts of his memoirs seem to be fairly reliable. Roger Manvell and Heinrich Fraenkel, two leading Himmler biographers, believe that Kersten "became the most powerful influence in Himmler's life after the death of Heydrich." There is no doubt that Kersten met Himmler quite often and that they were very close friends. This is apparent, for example, from the numerous references to Kersten in Himmler's 1941/42 office diary/appointment book ("Dienstkalender"), published in Hamburg in 1999. Following that statement, at Sunday's cabinet briefing the Prime Minister declared that construction will continue in West Bank settlements, a process questioned by President Obama during the Israeli leader's visit to DC last week. Approximately 250,000 Israelis live in the complex of settlements which dot the contested West Bank.
The Palestinian Authority continues to maintain that East Jerusalem will be the capital of an eventual Palestinian state.
In last week's tension-filled state visit between Netanyahu and Obama, the American administration maintained that the settlements were an impediment to the "peace process." With Secty of State Clinton stating to al-Jazeera, "We want to see a stop to settlement construction, additions, natural growth - any kind of settlement activity. That is what the president has called for."
May 21, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - On a May 12, 12-5 party line vote [Richard Lugar R-IN, being the only affirmative GOP vote] the Senate Foreign Relations Committee reported Harold Koh, team Obama's nominee to serve as the State Department's top legal advisor, out of committee and referred it to the full Senate.
The Senate is expected to take up the matter when it returns in June from the Memorial Day holiday.
Mr. Koh currently is serving as the Dean of Yale Law School. His nomination for the State position has been mired in controversy stemming from his advocacy of subsuming U.S. legal concepts to transnational/international jurisprudence.
The nominee's critics stress that while our current legal system is built on the solid bedrock of U.S. national sovereignty, Koh's radicalism on this matter would challenge that traditional emphasis and seriously threaten American self-determination.
Substantiating that allegation, those who challenge Koh's nominations offer his own words as proof, in this instance detailing how U.S. law can be subverted by an activist Federal judiciary.

At the college's 2009 commencement, Trinity's president Patricia McGuire let go with a mean spirited, morally reprehensible rant that would not have been out of place in Mussolini's Italy. Her frenetic broadside consisted almost entirely of a defense of Barack Obama's controversial presence at Notre Dame 2009 commencement which led to the arrest of 37 individuals who were protesting the pro-infanticide president's address.
As Ms. McGuire sees it, the accomplishments of "progressive" Catholics are in jeopardy, threatened and "increasingly under siege."
"The self-appointed "watchdogs" of Catholic higher education also afflict Catholics in political life, acting as grand inquisitors who appear to want nothing more than to drive all Catholics away from public office. They have established themselves as uber-guardians of a belief system we can hardly recognize. Theirs is a narrow faith devoted almost exclusively to one issue. They defend the rights of the unborn but have no charity toward the living. They mock social justice as a liberal mythology." Throughout her speech - though it contained all of the standard paens to First Amendment nomenclature, complete with the obligatory but theoretical in her case, patter about freedom of thought and inquiry - McGuire railed against those that might actually dare its exercise, calling them "ostensibly Catholic mobs," participants in "one of the angriest and most aggressively hostile efforts to block a commencement speaker ever endured by any American university."

May 18, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - A group of Muslim activists, headed by "Sheikh" Hamza Yusuf is now actively promoting a Muslim-centric college system in an effort to institutionalize da'wa, or faith propagation with the eventual goal of Islamizing America.
Yusuf currently heads the Zaytuna Institute in Berkeley, CA, modeled on "classical Muslim scholarship" [source, LA Times, http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/wire/sns-ap-us-rel-muslim-college,1,6160784.story]. Though Yusuf founded Zaytuna in 1996, he is probably most widely known for coining the thoroughly misleading quip that Islam was "hijacked" on September 11, 2001.
Though Yusuf is often characterized as a moderate and sometimes even held up as an iconoclastic Muslim, when examined, his record of public statements demonstrate quite the opposite, that he is a doctrinaire Muslim apologist, intent only on spreading Islam's influence.

May 18, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - German Interior Minister Wolfgang Schäuble no longer wants Germany to take nine Uighur detainees from Guantanamo, the German weekly "Focus" reported recently. They are now being considered to be "a potential threat" to German domestic security should they be allowed to go to Germany.
The nine Uighurs concerned had previously received training at a terrorist training camp run by ETIP/ETIM (the East Turkestan Islamic Party and the East Turkestan Islamic Movement), a terrorist network operating in the remote Xinjiang province in northwest China. These Uighur training camps were located in Afghanistan which was under Taliban rule at the time. Shortly after the 9/11 attacks, U.S. bombers bombed the Afghan village where the Uighur militants were staying. They fled to neighboring Pakistan where 17 Uighurs were later arrested and subsequently transferred to the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay (Gitmo).
Initially, Germany did consider taking detainees from Guantanamo, but by May 2009, German authorities began to backpedal. Information on the nine Uighur detainees provided by the U.S. Justice Department was inadequate, German security officials felt. There was no information on questions like: Did the nine Uighur detainees further radicalize during their lenghty detention or didn't they? Today, their movement ETIP is cooperating quite closely with Al-Qaeda, the Taliban and the Uzbek Islamic Jihad Union (IJI). The latter movement instructed a group of Turkish and native German terrorists to prepare a number of spectacular terrorist attacks on German territory on the sixth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The planned attacks had been thwarted by the timely arrests of four terrorists in September 2007.
Guido Steinberg from the German Foundation for Science and Politics told "Focus" in May 2009 that should those nine Uighur detainees indeed arrive in Germany, they would have to be watched 24 hours a day. An additional unwelcome burden upon the German taxpayer. (Dutch law professor Afshin Ellian argued that the Netherlands should not invite any former Gitmo detainees either as it will cost a lot of money to monitor people who pose a security risk.)

Perturbed that the CIA is not rolling over and thus allowing Congress to lie about the degree to which it was briefed about "enhanced" interrogation methods that it now sees fit to call torture, the air in DC is fairly crackling with anticipation over what seems an inevitable clash with America's most iconic spy outfit.
Long castigated for allegedly shoddy intelligence on Saddam's weapon's program and other failures, the agency has been excoriated by team Obama and personally by its current director, long time Clinton stooge Leon Panetta who wrote in 2008:

May 12, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - In a move certain to further demoralize Western intelligence, team Obama is threatening that it will no longer share sensitive information with British authorities if the country's courts release the details of the interrogation of Binyam Mohamed while he was detained by the U.S. military at Guantanamo Bay.
Observers have noted the inequity of penalizing the Brits for releasing information which appears to be several orders of magnitude less problematic than the damaging revelations that the Obama administration has made attempting to vilify the Bush administration via its April release of memos dealing with CIA's interrogation of GITMO detainees.
A little more than 100 days ago, in Mr. Obama's inaugural address he loftily proclaimed, "As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals... Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions..."
However his administration's subsequent and gleeful disclosure of heretofore secret interrogation techniques in an effort to criminalize the actions of the former president has seriously damaged national security as well as tainted our ideals.

He was arrested on November 26, 2007 and put in the Krome Detention Center in Florida. Farahi posted $15,000 bail and was released from Krome on December 4, 2007.
The group which is in the forefront of fighting to have him stay in the United States is the Muslim American Society, an American wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is utilizing news releases, fundraisers and petitions to further that goal. At a 2007 hearing in the case, the Executive Director of the Muslim American Society testified on Farahi's behalf as an expert witness.

My fear is that in the midst of all the hullaballoo, the actual reason behind the outcries from so many bishops and others may be overlooked. Not only has the university's invitation to Obama sparked debate, ridicule and politicking among Catholics, it has crystallized the problem in the American Catholic Church today, which is at a crisis level. That dilemma has nothing whatsoever to do with President Barack Obama, per se, though the situation at Notre Dame involving Obama has become the flash point that brings the enormity of the predicament into focus.

ACORN, an radical leftist organization which was founded by Wade Rathke and hence grew out of the Students for a Democratic Society [SDS], is currently under indictment for massive voter registration fraud in Nevada. Last year alone it was under investigation in 12 states.
The [Nevada] indictment includes 13 counts each against Acorn and its former Las Vegas field director, Christopher Edwards, who is accused of creating an incentive program called "blackjack" because $5 was paid for signing more than 21 prospective voters. Also indicted was Acorn's former deputy regional director, Amy Busefink, on 13 counts of principle to the crime of compensation for registration of voters. May 6, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund and Thomas More Law Center filed a friend-of-the-court brief Monday with the U.S. Supreme Court in defense of the Boy Scouts of America, challenged by the American Civil Liberties Union for maintaining and beautifying parks leased from the city of San Diego. The brief asks the court to consider the impact of such lawsuits on the ability of faith-based groups to provide non-religious services that have greatly benefitted cities and communities since the founding of the nation.
Groups such as the Boy Scouts shouldn't be penalized for their beliefs, and neither should the communities that benefit from their selfless work, said ADF Legal Counsel Dale Schowengerdt. The Boy Scouts of America spent millions of dollars to improve portions of two public parks that it leased from the city for a nominal fee. The Scouts allowed the public to have full access to the parks, yet two couples filed suit simply because they didn't like the beliefs of the Scouts organization. These types of ridiculous 'offended observer' lawsuits should no longer be tolerated."

May 6, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Chester E Finn, Jr. President of the Thomas B Fordham Foundation, senior fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institution, and senior editor of Education Next and co-author of several other publications, was also a former Under Secretary for Education beginning with his appointment by President Richard Nixon. Finn's most recent book, published 2008, is entitled: Troublemaker: a Personal History of School Reform since Sputnik. The title of this book would make one think that Mr. Finn would be providing an expose of all the troubling things that have occurred to education since the advent of Sputnik.
On the contrary, it becomes obvious during the reading that Finn was proudly, an insider aiding in instigating all the "reforms" created with the establishment of a National Office of Education.
What is of interest about the book is that he does establish a chronological record for the creation of all the alphabet letter organizations, foundations, individuals, Presidents and goals given voice and power to change the course and purpose of education ever since, at least the 1970's.
Many of the bills authored either on the federal or state level regarding education and health care come from the years that Mr. Finn, along with his cohort of agencies and think tanks, wrote and or promoted a new path for education. For example, the school-to-work legislation, early pre-school, school/parent partnerships, home visitation authorization on the part of school personnel or health care employees, schools as community centers for the distribution of social services, etc. just to name a few.

Dix Army base located in New Jersey, elements of the media are engaged in a revisionist rewrite of the facts of the case, now proffering the Dukas as misunderstood patriots who were entrapped by federal prosecutors.
For example, according to a recent article in the Philadelphia Inquirer the mere names of the Duka brothers roofing companies - National roofing and Colonial roofing - along with the American flag logos they used in promoting them proves their patriotism.
"Before they were considered the country's premier example of homegrown terrorists, the three Duka brothers operated a business called National Roofing. Their advertisements featured the American flag and the slogan, "We roof America." They worked long hours and did jobs for free for the poor, their father said."
Unable to accept the fact that his sons were actively seeking to wage jihad against the New Jersey military installation, their father continues to proclaim their innocence, "my sons are hardworking people, good to the community, good to society."

In another story Luigi Gaueci, the brother in law of one of the Fort Dix Six declared via the press, "They wouldnt have named their companies "Colonial" and "National" if they didn't love this country. Smith's actions must be seen as an extension of the government's already firmly established pattern of surrendering to the Islamists.

May 5, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Those faithful Catholics who are exposing the debacle at the University of Notre Dame are to be commended, and we are grateful for their courage, even in the face of opposition from fellow Catholics. American Life League's young leaders have experienced some of this firsthand in South Bend, but it has not deterred them. Many others, like us, who are also focused on this problem, have heard and seen more than could ever have been imagined, and not much of it is positive.
My favorite is the e-mail I received from a gentleman who said,
"What do you suggest Catholics do, bury their heads in the sand, and only talk and listen to those who agree with us? Shall we build an invisible wall around us, similar to what China really did? This is what you seem to be advocating in light of the Obama Notre Dame thing. Remember Cardinal Egan ate at table with Obama at the Al Smith Dinner."
In responding to him, I explained that we Catholics are not ostriches; but we are people who believe that there is a time and a place to expose the horror of an abortion-supporting politician's views. Having said that, we do not think a graduation ceremony at an identifiably Catholic institution is the place for this to occur. Notre Dame could have invited the president to debate his views with a pro-life politician, or they could have hosted a town-hall lecture during which those students who know that abortion is an act of murder could have voiced their position and perhaps helped the president understand the error of his ways. But graduation?
May 4, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - Congressman Frank Wolf [R, VA] took to the floor of the U.S. House this afternoon and excoriated the Obama administration for its planned release - on U.S. soil and funded by American taxpayers - of the members of a terrorist group currently being held in detention at GITMO.
The Uyghurs [pronounced Wheegerz] are Muslim and ethnically Turkish. They live primarily in the Chinese province of Xinjiang Uyghur where they have participated in an active and ongoing jihad against the Chinese government.
Nearly two dozen Uyghurs were captured on the Afghan battlefield in 2001. Affiliated with the terrorist East Turkistan Islamic Movement, it is believed that all of the detainees received training at various Taliban and al-Qaeda camps and have been held at GITMO since.
In a controversial administrative decision, a small number of the Uyghurs were determined to no longer represent a threat to the United States and the Obama administration is currently engaged in releasing them in the United States.
Today's speech by Congressman Wolf follows closely on the heels of an open letter which he sent to President Obama last Friday, expressing similar concerns.
In today's House statement, Mr. Wolf underlined his concern over the matter and for the first time alleged that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder may be applying political pressure on various federal departments in an attempt to stifle the release of what may be damaging information regarding the terrorist nature of the Uyghur detainees.

"Madam Speaker, it is my understanding that President Obama's decision regarding the release into the United States of a number of Uyghur detainees held at Guantanamo Bay since 2002 could be imminent. The New York Times, ABC News and others news outlets have reported that the president will soon release these terrorists into the United States, and yet this Congress has yet to be briefed on this decision. This is unacceptable.
Let's be clear: these terrorists would not be held in prisons but released into neighborhoods. They should not be released at all into the United States. Do Members realize who these people are? There have been published reports that the Uyghurs were members of the Eastern Turkistan Islamic Movement, a designated terrorist organization affiliated with Al Qaeda.
May 1, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - What follows is the text of a letter sent by former U.S. Prosecutor Andy McCarthy [the individual that nailed the so-called "Blind Sheikh" Omar Abdel Rahman, the spiritual advisor of the terrorists who were responsible for the first bombing attack against the World Trade Center in 1993] to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, declining to participate in the Justice Department's sham "roundtable meeting" of the President's Task Force on Detention Policy, calling it a "charade."
Mr. McCarthy is the real deal and this letter deserves a full read.
"Dear Attorney General Holder:
This letter is respectfully submitted to inform you that I must decline the invitation to participate in the May 4 roundtable meeting the President's Task Force on Detention Policy is convening with current and former prosecutors involved in international terrorism cases. An invitation was extended to me by trial lawyers from the Counterterrorism Section, who are members of the Task Force, which you are leading.
The invitation email (of April 14) indicates that the meeting is part of an ongoing effort to identify lawful policies on the detention and disposition of alien enemy combatants -- or what the Department now calls 'individuals captured or apprehended in connection with armed conflicts and counterterrorism operations.' I admire the lawyers of the Counterterrorism Division, and I do not question their good faith. Nevertheless, it is quite clear -- most recently, from your provocative remarks on Wednesday in Germany -- that the Obama administration has already settled on a policy of releasing trained jihadists (including releasing some of them into the United States). Whatever the good intentions of the organizers, the meeting will obviously be used by the administration to claim that its policy was arrived at in consultation with current and former government officials experienced in terrorism cases and national security issues. I deeply disagree with this policy, which I believe is a violation of federal law and a betrayal of the president's first obligation to protect the American people. May 1, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Ali Saleh Kahlah al-Marri, 43, a dual national of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to provide material support to al-Qaeda.
Al-Marri entered the guilty plea at a hearing yesterday before Judge Michael M. Mihm in U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. Al-Marri admitted that he agreed with others to provide material support or resources to al-Qaeda in the form of personnel, including himself, to work under al-Qaeda's direction and control with the intent to further the terrorist activity or terrorism objectives of al-Qaeda.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 30 and he could face up to 15 years in prison.
About the case, David Kris, Assistant Attorney General for the National Security Division states, "The facts admitted by al-Marri today demonstrate that he attended terrorist training camps, learned al-Qaeda tradecraft and was dispatched by the highest levels of al-Qaeda to carry out its terrorist objectives in America. The many agents, analysts and prosecutors who worked tirelessly on this investigation and prosecution deserve special thanks for their efforts."
